Hannah's Game Changing Apple Crisp

Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 4 each apples peeled and sliced paper thin
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Topping

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • ¾ cup seeds and/or nuts
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 6 tbsp coconut oil room temperature
  • 2 tbsp candied ginger
  • 1 tbsp orange zest about one medium orange
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Lightly grease an 8 inch round baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix filling ingredients until well combined.
  • Layer in the baking dish, making sure an even distribution of apples.
  • In the same bowl you just emptied, add the dry topping ingredients.
  • Add coconut oil and vanilla and mix well to combine (Don’t be afraid to use your hands).
  • Sprinkle topping over apples and place in oven, uncovered for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes and enjoy as is, or with ice-cream or whipped cream.
