I’m starting a new contest – each week on Instagram I will host a contest to ‘guess the recipe’ and the winner gets to “Ask me Anything”! This week, the lovely @lovebananaoats guessed the wonderful Early Morning Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal I made, so she asked me why I decided on Oh She Glows for a challenge, and not another blog? And why vegan? (you may have seen from some of my other posts recently that I’m not vegan) Well – I chose Angela’s blog because she was the one that really changed things for me when I moved to Victoria to pursue my masters degree. I stumbled across her blog when trying to make chocolate for Christmas presents – This was the exact recipe – and I was intrigued by how 1) easy the recipes were to follow and 2) how clean they were. I was a bit scared by the ‘vegan’ site so tested out a few recipes but would always throw cheese on the top – but after a while realized it wasn’t even needed! What brought me to this challenge? Well I was flipping through her cookbook and my boyfriend said “I’m pretty sure you’ve made her entire cookbook” – and although I made a LOT of her recipes, I was shocked by how many more there was to make! So I decided to challenge myself and see how many I could do in 30 days! There are many other blogs that have inspired me along the way as I became more and more interested in cooking from whole, plant-based ingredients. A few of them are: My New Roots, Tasty Yummies and Healthy Happy Life – among others (the list goes on and on). My plan is to do challenges from other blogs as well. I am not financially endorsed by Oh she Glows or anything like that (although I did run it by her to make sure it was okay). I do this all because I’m interested in the blog and what recipes she has to offer. I prepare to give a full unbiased review of all the recipes I try, and encourage you to do the same in the comments below. I love hearing your substitutions for different ingredients and how you make the recipes your own! Want to know more about me? Visit my About page – or ask me below 😉
