My name is Hannah and I am a die-hard foodie and a health promotion expert with a goal to help individuals feel excited around eating healthy whole foods and incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diets.

My philosophy around food

My journey with food began from as long as I can remember.  When I was a toddler, I would opt for the adult salad at the kids birthday parties, and was never a picky eater.  Throughout my teen years and twenties, I dabbled with vegetarian, vegan and restricted dieting. I never was really a fan of meat and so a plant-based diet was an obvious choice. As I approached my later 20s, I completed a masters’ degree researching fruit and vegetable consumption and human behaviours (behaviour economics). What I found was that people like to gain more than they like to lose… so having a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is more inticing than asking someone to restrict a food group or count calories.

Since then, I have decided to ditch the labels and focus on adding more heathy plant-rich choices to my lifestyle, challenging myself to be balanced and not worry about the restrictions. My recipes and lifestyle content focus on incorporating whole ingredients wherever possible and having fun while doing it! I am also passionate on reducing food waste, exploring different cultures, travel and dining. During the pandemic, I’ve gained a better appreciation for being a tourist in my own city and often do little food tours around Victoria BC, where I’m currently living!

Who am I?

I use the pronouns she/her/hers and I currently live and play on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ peoples, in Victoria, British Columbia Canada. I am a Sagittarius sun, Leo rising and Capricorn moon, omniverted empath. I have a small hedgehog friend name Rufus Theodore and love to share my adventures on the island and beyond!
