Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am FASCINATED by food. Literally, I live breath and sleep food, and healthy food specifically (but I do love a good piece of chocolate).
My journey with food began from as long as I can remember. My mom would tell me when I was a toddler that I would opt for the adult salad at the kids birthday parties, and was never a picky eater. When I turned 16, I began to wonder what it would be like without meat in my diet, as I never really consumed much of it prior. It became my first of many ‘challenges’, I became a vegetarian just to see if I could do it (and was planning on only doing it for a month). Well flash forward 10 years, and that ‘challenge’ stuck solid, not wanting to eat meat once! I did however begin to introduce sustainable sourced seafood this past year, as I began to crave it and had to indulge on a wonderful trip to the Philippines.
So now, I follow mostly a plant based diet, with the occasional fish (1x a week on average) and I go through waves of eating dairy and gluten. I really don’t like to prescribe what I eat, just as long as it’s healthy and making my body feel good!
A sample soup I am working on – stay tuned for the recipe!
I hope to one day post my own recipes, but lately am completely inspired by the wonderful blogs there are out there. I moved to Victoria, BC to pursue a masters degree in Health promotion (nutrition focused) and since moving here, have loved to make recipes from my favourite blogs. It has become quite a hobby of mine, and through the process I now can sleep better, clothes fit better, and I have been able to make it through my stressful masters! It’s really been a life transformation, and I owe it in part to the wonderful whole foods blogs I’m following. One thing I found, however, is that it is sometimes hard to meal plan, and make sure you are getting the right nutrients, as well as stay on budget. So my plan with this blog is to help navigate that, to make it easier for you! I also want to feature many blogs on my challenge, some very successful, and some up and coming.

I hope that you enjoy following the journey I am on with nutrition through this blog. I would love to hear from you!
Have a great day!
